Lovely ambience, delicious food, friendly service. My in future laws, my fiance, and I went to the bistro and were immediately taken in by how adorable it is. My in future laws, my fiance, and I went to the bistro and were immediately taken in by how adorable it is. Nice throw rug underneath the two tables. Nobody ever says no to truffle and lobster combo right? On busy nights, it's best to book a table ahead of time. Outside terrace seating is also available.
Yelp folks are absolutely right about the Chocolate Souffle too. Yet it's not noisy, you can actually speak softly and be heard. You can earn points when you book and dine using the OpenTable app or OpenTable.

- And martinis, kit royal & lemonade.
- And my wife and I have done a couple buyouts for very special occasions.
- And the food was deliciously French.
- At one point I glanced over and there were at least 4 empty tables on the other side of them where they could have been seated, thus avoiding the awkwardness for everyone involved.
In past guests have had fashion shows, DJ music, trunk shows, art galleries, fundraisers, rehearsal dinners, bar mitzvahs, birthday parties, weddings. It was a very interesting combination and I thought the flavors and textures mixed well, a little bit of a happy twist on an old favorite. It's also conveniently located on the first floor (no stairs). Just fine (in a Richard Gilmore voice). Lobster itself was excellent. Love this quiet little spot.
You walk down a few steps into a charming candlelit room with fresh flowers on every table and Edith Piaf music playing.

Service was exceptional and authentic. So please forgive me as I pull out all the stops. Staff is wonderful, friendly & helpful -especially Andreas who clearly loves his job and enjoys people. Suzanne, the owner, and her staff could not have friendlier or more accommodating. The TripAdvisor website may not display properly. The apps were delicious.
I like my personal space and I'm sure they do too. I ordered a simple chopped chicken salad, served on a bed of fresh spinach and celery root roumelade, topped with a light honey mustard. I really enjoyed this little place. I really enjoyed this little place. I really wanted to give this four stars before and I went and I wanted to give it two stars after I went with my girlfriend.

- Our French friends just never get enough of the roasted duck.
- Please let me know the next time you are in town!
- We split the warm artichoke salad as an appetizer and it was very, well, appetizing.

This food is way too expensive for the price. This place is truly the definition of a cute french restaurant. Those places are just too stiff for me and I'm put off that the mid-point wine pricing is in the hundreds of dollars. Very good wine list and that mouthwatering chocolate souffle is most definitely worth the wait! Very polite and attentive.

The food was good. The food was reasonably priced and superb. The second best, the truffle fries.
Chat Noir is much cozier, more relaxed, a far more intimate experience.
Especially considering the location. Every time I've eaten there I've tried fish and it has always been very satisfying. Everything about it, from the ambiance to the menu, was reminiscent of any local Paris bistro.
Fine restaurants excel in hospitality. Fine service, caring staff. First, it has a full bar selection with a nice range of spirits, including the whole gamut of dessert drinks: grappa, eau de vie, port, amaro, cognac and Armagnac. Food was delicious and the experience relaxing.
I had an outstanding Chablis the other night for $80 that was as good as it gets. I had the branzino, which was perfectly fine. I had the steak tartare starter and it was a huge disappointment.
We had a horrible experience at Le Charlot! We had a wonderful lunch here. We simply adore serving you! We were ready to order more of the cauliflower gratin until we found out that my fiance's dish, the branzino came with a side of it. When I go with friends new to the place, I typically order a couple of the Chat Noir tartars. Will come back again.
I stumbled upon this place on my way to the Central Park Zoo just a few blocks away. I was trying to be healthy for a change, and this salad was definitely healthy. If you are in a hurry, this is not your spot.
Everything is delicious and fresh tasting. Everything is delicious and fresh tasting. Everything thing that was served around us looked great. Fantastic venue for private parties. Fine restaurants excel in hospitality.
Chat Noir is a labor of love, and her clients have become friends and mentors.
From the greeting we received, to the wonderful meal, to the final goodbye, Bistro Chat Noir exceeded our expectations. Good good but WAY overpriced. Great food and drinks. Great food and drinks.

The service is generally attentive and friendly which may explain its popularity. The steak tartare and tuna tartare were excellent, not the best I've had, but definitely first class. The table layout was excellent and the sound level in the restaurant easily facilitated conversation. They are unbelievably delicious and are always changing. They make people feel welcome and do and say things to ensure that the guests enjoy their experience. This all happens for a large price.
The beef carpaccio & the lobster quinoa salad are my new favorites. The chocolate souffle was also first class. The excellent dining experience is consistent, and always worth the stop. The flavors were spot on and the sauce was delicious on the pasta.
